London: a visit to Sobha Realty and my own investment choice
I visited Sobha Realty’s London office and reviewed the project in which I bought two apartments from the perspective of both an owner and an investor.
During a trip to London, I visited Sobha Realty’s office. The model displayed there includes the project in which I bought two apartments for myself.
This made the meeting more than a work visit. I wanted to look at the project again as a property owner and an investor who has committed his own money.
When choosing a property for yourself, a well-known developer and a polished presentation are not enough. You look more closely at the location, layouts, construction quality, delivery schedule and how much demand the property may have after completion.
My long experience in construction helps me assess a property from the inside. I look not only at the building’s appearance, but also at how the construction process is organised, the engineering solutions, materials and details that will later affect the quality of the home and the comfort of its residents.
In this project, the overall set of characteristics matched my objectives, so I decided to buy two apartments. My choice, however, does not mean that the same property will automatically suit everyone.
Even a reliable developer can have projects that differ significantly in location, price, timing, concept and future audience. That does not make one project good and another bad. A property simply has to match the buyer’s specific objective.
This is why I do not begin client work with a developer’s name or a ready-made offer. I first understand the person’s goals, budget, timing and plans, and then compare the options that genuinely fit.
My own investments are practical experience as well. I go through the same process as my clients: assessing risk, making a financial decision, managing payments and waiting for construction to be completed.
